Best for

People outside the big banking markets who hold stablecoins, want a Visa card and US dollar account details without a local bank, and spend steadily enough by card to use the cashback.

KAST's free Standard tier is a reasonable stablecoin spending card: 1.5% USD cashback on up to $2,000 a month, free stablecoin deposits and a Visa Platinum card. Our code GKH61PRS doesn't pay cash; it takes $100 off Premium or $1,000 off Private, and new accounts in supported countries can also earn up to $80 in Cash Bonus tasks for $1,600 of spending. Premium only pays for itself on cashback from about $5,250 of card spend a month. The weak spots are structural: KAST is an Anjouan-registered company, the crypto you deposit becomes KAST's, cashback can't be withdrawn, and frozen accounts top the complaints.

Pros

  • Free Standard tier with 1.5% USD cashback on up to $2,000 of card spend a month
  • Code GKH61PRS takes $100 off Premium or $1,000 off Private in your first year
  • New accounts can earn up to $80 in Cash Bonus tasks for $1,600 of spending, where available
  • Stablecoin deposits are free and convert to US dollars one for one
  • USD and EUR account details for incoming transfers, and free instant transfers to other KAST users
  • Premium and Private are Visa Infinite cards with Visa's travel and purchase cover

Watch-outs

  • Run by a company registered in Anjouan, Comoros; the crypto you deposit becomes KAST's, with no deposit protection
  • 0.5% to 1.75% FX fee on non-USD spending, plus $0.10 on non-USD purchases under $25
  • Cashback can't be withdrawn: redeemed rewards only pay toward your next card purchase
  • A physical Standard card costs $40 to deliver, and ATM withdrawals cost $3 plus 2%
  • Cash Bonus amounts vary by country, and each milestone runs for only 7 days
  • Frozen accounts and repeated identity checks are the most common complaint

What KAST is

KAST calls itself a global money app powered by stablecoins: you deposit USDT, USDC or other supported coins, your balance shows in US dollars, and you spend it with a Visa card or send it out as a bank transfer. It also gives you USD and EUR account details to receive ACH, wire and SEPA payments. KAST says it has 1.4 million users and is a financial technology company, not a bank; cards, accounts and custody come from licensed partners.

The contract matters. KAST's platform terms are with KAST Tech, registered in Anjouan in the Union of Comoros, and its non-US cardholder agreement is with Troia Corp and a card issuer under licence from Visa. Crypto you transfer in is treated as a sale to KAST and held by a custodian on KAST's behalf, not yours; what you keep is a contractual right to redeem your unspent balance.

KAST's own risk disclosure says that if it fails, your local consumer protection won't cover you and you may not get your money back. Treat the balance as spending money, not savings.

Who can use it

KAST says it works in more than 170 countries, but there is no public list: at sign-up you pick your country of residence from a dropdown, and if it isn't there, KAST doesn't serve it. Using a VPN to get round that breaks the terms, and KAST checks location during KYC by more than your IP address.

You need to be of legal age where you live, typically 18, and pass identity, transaction and source-of-funds checks that can continue after you join. Card features and the Cash Bonus tasks only switch on in countries where KAST offers its card.

Standard, Premium or Private

Standard is free. It earns 1.5% USD cashback on up to $2,000 of eligible card spend a month, so at most $30, on a Visa Platinum card, and includes two cards; a physical one costs $40 to deliver, and some regions charge $2 for a virtual card.

Premium costs $1,000 a year for 2% cashback on up to $10,000 a month, KAST Points worth 1% of spend, a metal Visa Infinite card and Visa's Infinite benefits such as travel insurance, purchase protection and lounge discounts, which you register for on Visa's portal. Private costs $10,000 a year for 3% on up to $40,000 a month, 2% in points and a gold-plated card. Both are billed annually, with no monthly option.

KAST Points have no cash value, KAST commits to no future use for them, and it can stop them accruing on 14 days' notice. Judge the paid tiers on the dollars of cashback alone.

What code GKH61PRS unlocks

Sign up through our link and the code attaches by itself. If you sign up another way, you can type GKH61PRS when the app asks for a referral code, or add it later under Profile, Account, Referred by, Add Code. The code takes 10% off your first membership: $100 off Premium or $1,000 off Private. It doesn't pay cash on its own.

New accounts in countries with the KAST card also get Cash Bonus tasks. The first starts by itself once KYC clears: spend $600 within 7 days for up to $30. The next you start yourself in Rewards: another $1,000 within 7 days for $50. Amounts vary by country and the app shows yours; once a 7-day timer starts it can't be paused, and an expired milestone can't be restarted.

Disclosure: GKH61PRS is our code. KAST pays the referrer up to $100 as your card spend passes $600 and $1,600 within 45 days of your KYC approval, plus $100 if you buy Premium or $1,000 if you buy Private, so we earn from your spending and any upgrade.

Your first weeks on KAST with code GKH61PRS: sign up through our link, or add the code later under Profile, Account, Referred by; pass KYC, which starts the 45-day referral window, choosing your country of residence from KAST's list; Cash Bonus milestone 1, spend $600 in 7 days for up to $30, starting automatically after KYC; milestone 2, spend another $1,000 in 7 days for $50, started by you in Rewards and impossible to pause; rewards stay locked for up to 14 days, redeemed cashback pays toward your next card purchase, can't be withdrawn, and can be clawed back after refunds.

Is Premium worth paying for?

Compare cashback in dollars. Standard tops out at $360 a year. Premium earns $480 a year on $2,000 a month, $1,200 on $5,000 and $2,400 on $10,000, so its extra over Standard is $120, $840 or $2,040. Against the $900 first-year fee with our code, Premium breaks even at about $5,250 of eligible card spend a month, or about $5,670 at the full $1,000 from year two.

Private needs far more: with the $1,000 discount, its $9,000 first year only pays back on cashback from about $26,000 of card spend a month. Visa Infinite perks and KAST Points can tip the balance for heavy travellers, but neither is cash, so don't let them carry the decision.

Is KAST Premium worth it in year one? Extra USD cashback a year from Premium over Standard against the $900 first-year fee after the referral discount: at $2,000 a month, Standard $360 and Premium $480, extra $120; at $5,000 a month, Standard $360 and Premium $1,200, extra $840; at $10,000 a month, Standard $360 and Premium $2,400, extra $2,040. Break-even on cashback alone is about $5,250 of eligible card spend a month in year one, about $5,670 at the full fee. KAST Points are left out.

How cashback actually works

Cashback appears as soon as an eligible purchase is authorised, but stays locked for up to 14 days and is checked before you can redeem it, from $1 upward. Redeemed cashback is applied to your next eligible card purchase; it can never be withdrawn or sent out of KAST. Excluded merchant categories earn nothing, and KAST can claw back rewards from refunded, disputed or abusive spending.

Clawbacks come out of locked rewards first, then redeemable ones, then your main USD balance, which can go negative; you then have 14 days to repay. KAST also flags spending concentrated on a few merchants to hit a milestone, so put only normal purchases through the card.

Fees

Card spending in US dollars is free, and so are top-ups and Apple Pay or Google Pay. Other currencies carry an FX fee of 0.5% to 1.75% depending on your country and card programme, shown before you confirm, plus $0.10 on non-USD purchases under $25. A payment declined for insufficient balance costs $0.50.

ATM withdrawals cost $3 plus 2%, up to $500 a time and three withdrawals or $1,500 a day. Stablecoin deposits are free apart from network fees; bank transfers in cost $2 by ACH, $15 by Fedwire, $30 by SWIFT and 0.5% by SEPA. Sending stablecoins out costs $1 plus 0.1% on Solana, $0.20 plus 0.1% on Arbitrum, $6 plus 0.1% on Ethereum or $5 plus 0.1% on Tron, from $5. Transfers to other KAST users are free and instant.

Leave an account untouched for 12 months and it becomes dormant, with a $1 monthly inactivity fee taken from any balance.

Reserve, Earn and the risks around them

KAST's membership page shows a Reserve rate of 8% on Standard, 10% on Premium and 12% on Private, with the offer ending on 1 July 2027. The Reserve terms are stricter: the rate is a discretionary promotional reward, not interest, KAST can cut it to zero, and the promotional rate ends on 31 December 2026 or once platform reserves reach $100 million, whichever comes first. Separately, KAST's Earn vaults put dollars into on-chain strategies on Base and Solana held in your own Privy wallet, at variable rates KAST quotes at up to 7%.

None of it is a bank deposit, and the Reserve terms say plainly that no deposit insurance covers it. The vaults add smart-contract and liquidity risk. KAST can also freeze, convert or reverse funds for compliance reasons, so keep only what you can afford to have stuck for a while.

What users complain about

On 24 October 2026 the KAST app was rated 4.0 from 282 ratings on the US App Store and 3.8 from 3,206 on Google Play.

Happy users like the virtual card, the dollar account and local-currency payouts. The low-star reviews repeat the same themes: accounts frozen or blocked with demands to prove where the money came from, identity checks rejected or repeated, FX costs higher than expected, changes to the points programme, Apple Pay not working after paying for a card, rejected SWIFT transfers and forced app updates.

Who should get it, and who should skip it

Get the free Standard tier if your country is on KAST's list, you already hold stablecoins, and you want a dollar card and account details without a local bank. Join through our link so GKH61PRS is attached: it costs nothing, and it saves you $100 if you later move to Premium.

Skip it if you need deposit protection or a regulated bank, can't afford to have funds frozen during a compliance review, or would have to manufacture spending to clear the Cash Bonus milestones. Only consider Premium if you reliably put more than about $5,250 a month through the card.

On cashback alone, only from about $5,250 of eligible card spend a month in year one with our $100 discount, or about $5,670 at the full price.

No. Rewards stay locked for up to 14 days, then you redeem them toward your next eligible card purchase. They can't be withdrawn or transferred.
